Sewer Backups and Alarms
If any customer should experience a sewer backup, they should contact Customer Service at (843) 443-8202 or (843) 443-8200 after hours. Sewer backups may result from problems in the customer’s line or in the utility’s line.
GSWSA personnel are available 24/7 to investigate sewer backups and either advise customer, if it is their responsibility, or provide corrective action needed, if it is GSWSA’s responsibility. There is no charge to the customer for this service.
Pump stations are equipped with alarms and lights to indicate operational problems. All such alarms should be immediately reported to GSWSA’s Customer service at (843) 443-8202 or (843) 443-8200.
