The Conway Wastewater Treatment Plant is an upgraded plant put into operation in May 2003. It is capable of treating 4.0 million gallons of wastewater per day. GSWSA owns and operates the plant which serves the City of Conway and a large portion of the Western areas of Horry County.

The treated effluent is discharged into a swampland on the Waccamaw River.

The treated bio-solids by-products are land applied to the GSWSA’s tree farms in the Bucksport area to enhance the growth of forest products
