Myrtle Beach

Plant Information

Myrtle Beach Plant

The Myrtle Beach WWTP is located at the end of Mr. Joe White Avenue, near the AICWW and serves the City of Myrtle Beach.  The plant is permitted to treat 17 million gallons of wastewater per day and discharge treated effluent to the Intracoastal Waterway/Waccamaw River near the Georgetown City line.

The plant employs several processes to reach the high level of treatment needed for discharge.  The plant is scheduled for expansion to 22.4 mgd in 2007.

The bio-solids by-product are composted to provide the most beneficial, reusable, soil amendment for residential/commercial lawn and gardens.
