Wastewater Plant Information

Mullins

The Mullins WWTP is located on the east side of Mullins and serves the residents of the City of Mullins. The plant is permitted to treat 2.75 million gallons per day and discharge treated effluent via White Oak Creek to the Little Pee Dee River.

The plant employs the Activated Sludge process to maintain a high quality effluent prior to discharge into its receiving stream.

The biological solids that are generated during the treatment process are treated to Class B standards through aerobic digestion to provide the most beneficial reusable product. The digested material is utilized as crop fertilizer at a SCDHEC approved Authority farm.
