MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Bull Creek SWTP
GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:
Performs skilled preventative and corrective maintenance of associated equipment at GSWSA’s Water Treatment Plant. Work is performed under general supervision.
TYPICAL TASKS:
Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on associated equipment at the Bull Creek Water Treatment Facility;
Performs routine tasks from computerized work orders;
Generates and closes out work orders on computer;
Performs preventative maintenance on equipment, associated pump stations, and the stand by generators at the plant sites and booster stations;
Orders and keeps lubricants on hand for preventative maintenance;
Organizes spare parts in an area for accountability and to minimize down time of equipment;
Organizes tool storage area for accountability of tools;
Performs related tasks as requested.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
General knowledge of the methods, practices, materials, and tools to perform maintenance of plant equipment; some knowledge of the principles of water and wastewater treatment to avoid process upsets while performing maintenance tasks; ability to operate a computer in the generation and close out of task orders on the Maintenance Management Programs; ability to detect and correct equipment requiring maintenance; ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately; ability to perform strenuous manual labor under all weather conditions in the field; ability to lift 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects; ability to bend, reach, stand for extended periods, climb ladders, twist, sit, kneel, crawl, squat and walk; and ability to drive a vehicle daily.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and one (1) year of mechanical, maintenance, water or wastewater experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of valid driver’s license according to state of residence and possession of a Class B CDL license.

· Senior Maintenance Technician: $23.78+ per hour
THIS POSITION IS OPEN IN THE BULL CREEK SWTP DEPARTMENT. THE PAY RANGE IS $21.62 - $32.43 PER HOUR. THIS POSITION WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL FILLED.
